Visakhapatnam is all set to become home to India's longest cantilever glass skywalk bridge, a significant development aimed at boosting tourism in the region. Spanning an impressive 50 metres, the bridge will offer stunning views of both the sea and the surrounding hills. Located near the Titanic Viewpoint at Kailasagiri, one of the city's most popular tourist spots, the glass bridge will provide an unforgettable experience for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. The project, which is expected to cost around INR 6 crores, began construction on November 18, 2024, and is expected to be a major attraction for visitors to the area.
The new skywalk bridge will surpass the current titleholder, Kerala's Vagamon Glass Bridge, which is 40 metres long. Once completed, Visakhapatnam's bridge will claim the title of India's longest cantilever glass skywalk, offering an unparalleled walking experience high above the ground. Visitors will be able to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the sea and the hills while walking along the glass bridge, making it a unique and thrilling attraction.
The skywalk is part of a larger INR 6 crore project aimed at enhancing tourism and adventure activities in the region. It is being developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) between the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) and RJ Adventures, a collaboration between SSM Shipping & Logistics and Bharat Mata Ventures. The project's goal is not only to create an exciting new landmark but also to encourage more visitors to explore the natural beauty of Visakhapatnam.
Designed to hold up to 40 people at a time, the bridge will ensure both safety and excitement for those walking on it. The project also includes two thrilling zip-lines and sky-cycling tracks, each stretching 150 metres. These adventurous additions will allow visitors to glide over the scenic hills or cycle high above the ground, providing a truly exhilarating experience. The zip-line and sky-cycling tracks will be developed at an additional cost of INR 2 crores, making the entire project an exciting combination of nature, adventure, and tourism.
Once completed, the skywalk will be a game-changer for Visakhapatnam's tourism industry, offering a one-of-a-kind attraction that will draw visitors from across the country. The combination of the stunning glass bridge, the adventure activities, and the picturesque location of Kailasagiri will make this new addition to Visakhapatnam a must-see destination.
