In a significant milestone for Uttar Pradesh's air connectivity, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the inaugural flight service between Lucknow and Varanasi on August 10. The launch, facilitated by IndiGo Airlines, promises to drastically reduce travel time between the two cities to just 55 minutes, marking a pivotal development for the region's transportation infrastructure.

Enhancing Accessibility

Addressing a gathering at the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Chief Minister Adityanath hailed the introduction of the flight service as a "much-needed" and "commendable effort" to connect the state capital with the spiritual hub of the nation. He highlighted the service's alignment with the Prime Minister's Udaan Scheme, which aims to democratise air travel, enabling even common citizens to experience the convenience of air travel.

A Testament to Progress and Development

Underlining the rapid expansion of air services in the state, Adityanath underscored the transformative journey of Varanasi, a city that has flourished under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that in six years, the number of operational airports in the state has surged from two to nine. The Chief Minister also revealed plans to establish 12 more airports, including two international ones, with the Ayodhya Airport set to become fully operational in December. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, General VK Singh, joined the event through video conferencing from New Delhi, highlighting the event's national significance.

Flight Details and Connectivity

Operated by IndiGo Airlines, the flight service will initially operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Flight 6E-7319 will take off from Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow at 2:20 PM, reaching Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi at 3:30 PM, completing the journey in 1.10 hours. The return flight, 6E-7321, will depart from Varanasi Airport at 4:05 PM and arrive at Lucknow Airport 55 minutes later, further cementing the air bridge between the two key cities.
