The UAE has announced that Indian citizens with ordinary passports can enjoy the convenience of a visa on arrival at all entry points across the country. This makes exploring the UAE easier than ever for Indian passport holders.
On October 17, 2024, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) in the UAE unveiled an exciting update for Indian nationals. This new regulation enables Indian citizens with valid visas or residence permits for the European Union (EU), the United States (US), or the United Kingdom (UK) to enjoy a convenient visa-on-arrival when travelling to the UAE, making visits more accessible than ever.
Previously, the facility to obtain a visa upon arrival was exclusively available to Indian nationals who possessed residence permits in key international regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union. However, under the newly implemented regulations, there is a significant shift that allows Indian passport holders with ordinary passports the chance to secure a visa upon arrival at all entry points into the United Arab Emirates. This change is particularly noteworthy as it opens the door for a broader range of travellers. To take advantage of this opportunity, applicants must meet specific criteria, which typically include requirements related to health, travel purposes, and financial means, thereby enhancing the accessibility of travel to this dynamic and culturally rich destination.
The visa-on-arrival policy offers an excellent opportunity for eligible travellers seeking to explore the UAE's vibrant culture and stunning landscapes. This policy specifically applies to individuals who possess permanent resident cards, green cards, or valid visas from the United States, the United Kingdom, or any country within the European Union.
Both visa types require travellers to pay the applicable fees by the regulations set forth by the UAE. This provides a straightforward and accessible way for eligible travellers to enjoy their time in this dynamic destination. Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into the UAE to qualify for the visa-on-arrival.
