The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has announced the expansion of the Skydiving Festival in Ujjain, following the tremendous success of previous festivals. This year's event marks the fourth consecutive Skydiving Festival to boost adventure tourism and diversify tourism activities in the state. Tourists will have the thrilling opportunity to jump from a height of 10,000 feet and take in the stunning views of the spiritual city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. This three-month extravaganza began on November 9, 2024, and will conclude on February 9, 2025.

The Principal Secretary of the Tourism and Culture Department and Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, Sheo Shekhar Shukla, stated that Madhya Pradesh is a premier offbeat multispecialty destination, having achieved remarkable tourist footfall records. "The Skydiving Festival in the spiritual land of Ujjain will once again provide excitement and entertainment. Due to the success of the first three editions and the enthusiasm of tourists for this adventure activity, we are excited to announce the launch of the fourth edition in Ujjain this year."

The three-month-long adventure extravaganza will be held at Datana Airstrip, which overlooks the city of Mahakal. Sky-high India, the organising company, will use a specially modified Cessna 182P aircraft that can accommodate six people at a time for skydiving. However, only two participants and two instructors will dive on each flight. Shukla stated that over 1,000 participants are expected to participate in this three-month event. In addition to skydiving, other aerial activities will also be offered.

Safety First

Participants can safely experience the thrill of freefall while enjoying breathtaking views of Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar. Sky-high India, a company certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the United States Parachute Association (USPA), will conduct the skydiving operations.
