In a move towards enhancing infrastructure and recreational facilities near the upcoming Noida International Airport, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) announced several significant projects during its 81st board meeting on June 26. The meeting, chaired by YEIDA chairman Anil Kumar Sagar, highlighted various initiatives to boost business and leisure in the region.

Major Projects Approved

Key projects include developing a state-of-the-art exhibition-cum-convention centre spanning 200 acres in Sector 7, showcasing industries like medical devices, toys, textiles, electronics, automobiles, and semiconductors. This facility aims to facilitate seamless business interactions and host exhibitions, conferences, and product launches. Additionally, another 200 acres in Sector 8 will be dedicated to an Expo Mart focused on promoting furniture and handicrafts, with feasibility studies determining construction models and revenue methods. India Exposition Mart Ltd is also seeking 200 acres for South Asia's largest Exhibition, Convention & MICE project, which promises to host numerous events annually.

Recreational Developments

YEIDA is also focusing on recreational projects, with 2,800 acres allocated in sectors 22 F and 23 B for green facilities, including an international golf course covering 1,000 acres, an open stadium, an amusement park, and an open-air theatre, all aimed at enhancing the area's recreational offerings.

Improved Connectivity

YEIDA has partnered with NHAI to support these developments for several key road projects. These include the construction of a 30-meter-wide, 8.25 km Northeast access road to Jewar Airport, an 800-meter VIP access road to the airport, and an interchange connecting the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and Yamuna Expressway. Additionally, two ramps will be constructed at the 23rd km on the Yamuna Expressway, offering direct connectivity to the proposed Film City and residential sectors 18 and 20.
