It stands on the historic royal site of Whitehall Palace in London and has witnessed world-changing events of the twentieth century. Now, after a monumental six-year transformation, Britain’s Old War Office is reopening as a brand-new luxury hotel in the heart of London.
The Hinduja Group and Raffles had partnered for this unique restoration project which will be inaugurated on September 26. This Grade II historic building, spearheaded by the Hinduja Group and Onex Holding, is entering an exciting new age as The OWO.
Located opposite Horse Guards on Whitehall, the property is near St James Park and the Mall. The place has served as an office for eminent people, including Winston Churchill, David Lloyd George, and Lord Kitchener.
The historical building will offer 120 guest rooms and suites overlooking iconic London landmarks. This landmark British building was the office of the British Government for the administration of the British Army between 1857 and 1964 until its functions were transferred to the Ministry of Defence.
The fine Edwardian building also houses the first Raffles-branded residences in Europe, with 85 uniquely crafted residences shaped by British design studio 1508 London and managed by Raffles.
