Did you know you can now get to Macau from Hong Kong much much faster The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge, the world's longest sea crossing, is all set to be inaugurated on October 23.It will start operations a day later. It links the Chep Lop Kok in Hong Kong to Zhuhai in Guangdong province and Macau. The 55km-long bridge is said to reduce travel time from three hours to just 30 minutes further integrating the cities in the Pearl River Delta.

There will be 24-hour shuttle bus services between the three cities from port to port, running every five minutes during peak hours, every 10 to 15 minutes during the non-peak period and every 15 to 30 minutes overnight. Each trip will take upto HK$65 during the day, and HK$70 at night.

An advantage of the bridge is that the Hong Kong&ndashZhuhai&ndashMacau link will encourage more Macau and Guangdong residents to visit the bustling metropolitan of Hong Kong. Giving a further boost to the local tourism industry, the tourists will provide a welcome boost to the economy as well. The bridge will provide tourists with the opportunity of visiting Macau and the western part of Guangdong by road or by rail on top of visiting Hong Kong. The new multi-destination itineraries will definitely enhance the tourist experience in the region. As a matter of fact, this has been a strong selling point for Hong Kong's tourism promotion.Another reason why you should visit would be to see the engineering wonder that is the bridge which includes a 6.7km underwater tunnel. The bridge is considered to be an engineering wonder while the tunnel under the&nbspPearl River estuary is connected via two artificial islands to a main bridge.
