The global outbreak of the novel coronavirus has halted the world as we knew it. It has affected various sectors of the economy. One industry that the pandemic has had a drastic impact on is travel and tourism. 

Visa restrictions, grounded flights as well as prevailing lockdowns across most international borders have impacted the industry not just in the present scenario, but also in the future. Travellers cancelling their current as well as future plans has impacted both the service providers as well as consumers.

In order to address the issue, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is organising a webinar on the &lsquoCOVID-19 Pandemic Lockdown Effect on Indian Travel and Tourism Industry Impact, Survival and Roadmap to a Better Future&rdquo.

Before the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the Indian tourism sector had gained momentum and looked promising. However, the disruption caused by COVID-19 has impacted the travel and tourism market across different levels.The webinar will discuss what is happening and what lies ahead. 

The panel for the webinar includes industry experts&mdashSreya Guha, Principal Secretary, Tourism, Art & Culture, Government of Rajasthan, Rupinder Brar, Additional Director General, Ministry Of Tourism, Government Of India, Dr. Jyotsna Suri, Past President FICCI, Chairperson FICCI Tourism Committee & CMD Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, Pronab Sarkar, President, IATO, Rajesh Magow, Co Founder & Group Chairman, MakeMyTrip, Ankush Nijhawan, Co Chairman, FICCI Travel Technology Committee, Co-Founder, TBO Group & Managing Director Nijhawan Group and Rakshit Desai, Managing Director, FCM Travel with Ashish Kumar, Co Chairman, FICCI Travel Technology Committee as the moderator.
