The city of Jodhpur and the Mehrangarh Fort will play host to Jodhpur RIFF between the 24-28th October. For the 11th year running, the event will witness soul-stirring music and performances from Rajasthan and around the world. Jodhpur RIFF offers a&nbspglimpse into traditional Rajasthani folk instruments,&nbspfacilitated&nbspinteractions with folk experts,&nbspand many international&nbspmusicians.

Presenting an expansive repertoire of folk music, Jodhpur RIFF is lauded for the variety of soundscapes it showcases. There are events such as the Dawn Concerts, where music lovers can enjoy riveting performances as the sun rises over the renowned monument of Jaswant Thada.&nbspHidayat Husain Khan, an accomplished Sitar player, will grace the stage along with thumri and dadra singer Vidya Rao,&nbspat this particular segment of the&nbspfestival.

A midnight folk variety concert that goes on till the early mornings can be experienced at the Desert Lounge in the Rao Jodha Park.&nbspThe musical extravaganza also offers an In Residence, a space where guests of the event have an opportunity to meet the cultivators of the traditional Rajasthani folk music. Mohammed Muneem, a singer-songwriter, poet and composer from the band Alif,&nbspalong with others will exhibit what music means to Kashmir and its different musical traditions&nbspwith their powerful performances.

Over two hundred Rajasthani musicians and more than a hundred other artists&nbspparticipate in the festival each year. One can also savour deeply nuanced performances of living legends of the historic form. Suguna Joshi, a Kalbeliya artist hailing from a village near Jodhpur and Dapu Khan, a kamaicha maestro from Bhadli village near Jaisalmer will be some of the legends taking to the stage.

Dance to your heart's content at the Club Mehran where global hits will be played. Also, make your way to the RIFF Rustle, a collaboration of artists performing at the penultimate concert of the event every year. A rustler is appointed by the festival who is responsible for putting together a random string of performances of the musicians present.
