The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is inviting tourists to come and experience the amazing sight of the &lsquoPink Water Lilies Lake&rsquo at Nong Han Kumphawapi, a freshwater lake in Thailand&rsquos northeastern province of Udon Thani.

Spread over 36 sq. km, the lake is one of Thailand&rsquos most important wetlands. And every year around this time, a carpet of brilliantly-hued flowers cover the surface.

You can hire personal cruise boats to see the water lilies up close and enjoy the natural scenery filled with a variety of fish, birds, wildlife and other aquatic life.

A tip Wake up early as the perfect time to see the flowers in full bloom is from 6am to 11am.
Udon Thani is also known for the archaeological marvels at the Ban Chiang World Heritage Site where the world&rsquos first Bronze Age civilisation is believed to have flourished more than 5,000 years ago.

How to get there Udon Thani can be reached by bus, train and air, with departures from Bangkok&rsquos bus and train terminals. Daily flights are also available from Don Mueang International Airport and Suvanabhumi Airport.
