It's the jewel in the crown of the Queen of Hills. We are talking about Glenary&rsquos, a bakery and cafe which is synonymous with Darjeeling.

No trip to the North Bengal hill station can be complete without a visit to this British-era heritage place. It had been shut since March, but under Unlock 4, the cafe has reopened with safety measures and social distancing norms in place. And we hear that people are already making a beeline there to pick up cakes, pies and pastries and other bakery items.

We can't wait to visit Darjeeling just to tuck into a velvety cake sitting on their balcony. Or have their signature dishes, like beef steak, shepherd&rsquos pie or a lasagna, accompanied by gorgeous views of the mighty Kanchenjunga.

Heritage architecture and amazing food in the Himalayan foothills, what else do you need to wash away those pandemic blues
