In a recent survey conducted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), it was revealed that nearly 50% of vacationers have plans underway to travel in the next two months. Additionally, 33% of the respondents plan to travel twice of what they did last year. According to the report, 65% of travellers were comfortable stepping out of their state and flying to their destinations and nearly 90% were comfortable with exploring offbeat places. It was also revealed that 43% people preferred  a &lsquoweekend break&rsquo and 33% were interested in a wokcation in the lap of nature.

The survey was conducted in collaboration with Thrillophilia in major metropolitan cities with the aim to gauge the post-pandemic travel preferences of respondents. It touched upon various issues including safety measures, accommodation, transportation.

According to a statement by Dillip Chenoy, the Secretary-General of FICCI &ldquoThe future of travel, tourism and hospitality industry will be completely different with a new set of rules laying more emphasis on social distancing, safety, health and hygiene."
