Fully Vaccinated No Quarantine for Travellers from India to Thailand, Visa on Arrival

Popular south-east Asian travel destination Thailand opened its borders for fully vaccinated international travellers on November 1 this year.

Tourists vaccinated against COVID-19 virus from more than 60 &lsquolow risk&rsquo countries, including India, can now visit Thailand and do not have to quarantine in hotels, reports said.

However, travellers have to obtain the Thailand Pass, through the free-of-charge web-based Travel Pass System, which according to government sources, has been designed to make the documentation process of travellers entering Thailand more efficient than the Certificate of Entry application.

The Thailand Pass will allow fully vaccinated travellers to enter Thailand without mandatory quarantine or sandbox stay. They only have to stay for one night in an ASQ or SHA Hotel while they wait for the result of the COVID 19 RT-PCR test taken upon arrival. 

Also the fully vaccinated flyers from the approved countries can enter the country by air and must have stayed for a minimum of 21 days in one of these approved countries.

Unvaccinated children below 12 years may travel with vaccinated parents without quarantine.

Airports serving Bangkok and Phuket are among those opening to countries including the UK, China, Japan, the US and most of Europe, reported bbc.com.

Travellers from India are eligible to visit Phuket, Samui and Krabi, media reports quoted

Indians may also obtain a visa on arrival, provided they fulfil all regular conditions.

Note Thailand also has options of sandbox programmes and alternative quarantine schemes for travellers.
