Ozen Life Maadhoo, located in South Malé Atoll of the Maldives, has been known for its elegant setting and uber-luxe facilities, extending from underwater dining to exciting ocean excursions. And now guests can up their tennis skills while staying here thanks to the resort&rsquos exclusive package built around the game.
The resort features an artificial grass tennis court at the southern end of the island. The court is floodlit, thus allowing guests, who have been busy by day, to enjoy a match after sundown.
The resort has entered into a partnership with RTC Sports (Recreational Tennis Coaching) so that qualified and experienced tennis coaches are available on a rotation basis. Guest&rsquos may build up their game with lessons charted according to their skill levels - novice, intermediate or advanced.
&ldquoHaving a resident tennis coach on the island will not just add to the sports and recreation activities but also allow serious tennis players to work on their game while they enjoy a serene getaway in the Indian Ocean,&rdquo said Henar Gil Rios, the General Manager of Ozen Life Maadhoo.
There are four RTC Levels &ndash Level 1, Level 2, Advanced and Master &ndash for both adults and children. Guests can choose to focus on specific skills forehand, backhand, serve and return, slice and drop shot, volley and smash, tennis strategies and tactics, conditioning for tennis, mental toughness, tennis routines and specialty shots.
At present, interested guests are being coached by Marcus Drien, an ITF level 2 tennis professional and a certified fitness coach. Tennis enthusiasts can hit some balls with Drien during the high intensity group games held Monday to Friday at 8 in the morning. These have to be pre-booked on additional charges.
The resort is currently offering an introductory program inviting guests to try their hand at tennis for the first time and pick up some tips.
The open session is held for beginners every Saturday at 5pm.
There is also an option of booking private individual and couples&rsquo sessions.
