Cancer has been a perpetually threatening evil in society for past decades. While studies and research have been ongoing for many years, most treatments today are only applicable to those whose symptoms are detected at an early stage. In an attempt to spread awareness about breast cancer and encourage health and wellness in women&rsquos lifestyle, Pinkathon began women&rsquos runs in 2012. Continuing on with the tradition, the event has been more expansive and inclusive in the following years. This year, the Delhi leg of the seventh edition will take place on September 8, 2019 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
The event will also include multiple categories including VWash Plus 3km, Amazon 5km, Volini 10km and Nourish Organics 21km. To commemorate the launch, a press conference was held at Andaz Delhi where the mascots for each category were introduced.
Founder and ambassador Milind Soman is hopeful for this year&rsquos event and shares the story and impact of Pinkathon amongst the women of India. &ldquoWe are confident that the city and its people will support us and help make this run a humongous success. Pinkathon has carved a niche of being more than a marathon. Pinkathon forever training has created a culture of regular exercise and fitness which is taking root in India. The first step in empowerment is taking control of your health, respecting yourself and understanding and celebrating the value you bring to your family and society,&rdquo said Soman.
