Instagram is arguably both a boon and a bane, but to the residents of this one particular street in Paris, it is neither&mdashit is just a downright nuisance. The pastel coloured buildings in Rue Crémieux form an extremely popular backdrop for many Instagram influencers. There are over 32k photographs with the location tagged as #rieucremieux with photos such as people posing in front of doors, forming montages on the cobbled lane, or even shooting videos.
Which is all well and then&mdashexcept this is no commercial street. Residents live here, sleep here and work here, and trying to that with the herd of tourists is getting troubling.
They have recently asked for the street to get cordoned off to visitors during certain hours of the week, especially weekends. As per this website, the vice president of the resident&rsquos association said, "During the week it&rsquos not bad because it&rsquos just tourists and they don&rsquot disturb too much. But during the weekend, it&rsquos 200 people outside our windows. We&rsquore eating at our tables and people are just outside taking pictures."
While this isn&rsquot easy to implement, the community is going to try for it, and we don&rsquot blame them. Until that happens, the colourful little street is still open to you,
