New York Launches First Digital Vaccine Passport

The Excelsior Pass is all set to make travelling and moving around easier
Published on
New York has rolled out the first digital vaccine passport which will be like the magical key to moving around without encumbrances. The Excelsior Pass will not only make travelling easier, but also help people attend events and meetings in a safer manner. Users just have to prove that they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 or have tested negative for the virus recently. A code would then be provided on their mobile phones for this, which they need to show to the authorities.
This pass would work like a gateway to many places, for instance, it will allow people to enter Madison Square Garden for events. People will be able to travel across the whole city and attend entertainment, art and other events.
The number of people at weddings could also be increased through the Excelsior Pass.
How Does The Pass Work
One has to download the Excelsior Pass App on their smartphone and fill in some personal details. Then they can prove their health status through a digital QR code provided to them on the app. The vaccine registry then updates the data.
Who Can Access The Pass
Anyone who has been vaccinated in New York State, and it has been 14 days since the last shot was taken, or has not tested positive for coronavirus in the last ten days. The pass can also be issued to citizens who have taken a PCR test in the last three days and have tested negative. Those who have tested negative in the last six hours for antigen tests can also use the pass.
