Searching change for tickets in public transport is not a problem for the citizens of Luxembourg anymore. Maybe the biggest change in the world is here for them. The re- elected coalition government of Luxembourg led by Xavier Bettel as the Prime Minister put forward the agenda of lifting the fares from all public transport.

From next summer the people in Luxembourg will have the privilege to travel around the country in trains, trams, and buses with empty pockets. Transportation being one of the major sources of revenue for every country in the world, Luxembourg is the first one to stand out. This idea was put forward in order to strengthen his promise of dealing with environmental issues as the prime concern during the election campaign. The government aims to end one of the worst traffic adversities in the world faced by the country. The year 2019 will go down in the history of Luxembourg as it will completely abolish the purchase of tickets on public transport.

With the policy of free transportation for everyone under the age of 20 years and for secondary school students to reach their institutions already being followed in the country, it has always shown a positive interest towards public transport. The decision was taken to reduce the usage of private vehicles which will eventually help the country to solve the problem of pollution caused by them.
