The state of Kerala has managed to withstand the worst of the worst and emerged victorious each time. The torrential rains, policy shifts, delaying of the Nehru Trophy Boat Race had put the tourism industry of the state in a worrisome situation. But with the state government&rsquos latest initiative to boost Kerala as a MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) destination, it&rsquos all set to match global standards.

As venues of meetings, conferences and exhibitions gain more importance, MICE as a form of business tourism has been rapidly gaining momentum. The 12th Conventions India Conclave (CIC) which is one of the most anticipated meetings on MICE tourism is being held at Grand Hyatt Bolgatty Kochi between Aug 29 - Aug 31, 2019. The theme for this year&rsquos conclave is &lsquoMapping the sustainable MICE future of India&rsquo. The focus of the conclave will be on promoting the country as a prime centre for conferences and exhibitions and providing the participants a platform for business development. Delegates from nearly 30 countries, including the likes of US, UK, Russia, France and Brazil have confirmed their participation.

&nbspThe event is being organized by ICPB (India Convention Promotion Bureau) and is sponsored by the Government of India, Ministry of Tourism and Department  of Tourism, Government of Kerala. As per reports by Economic Times, Kadakampally Surendran, the tourism minister for state said that Kerala has been a MICE destination for a while, but because of recent changes in policies, it has lost some ground which they plan to regain.
