There are new night rules for rail passengers. Now, if you are travelling through the night, you might have more chances to get better sleep, as the government is all for it. The guidelines include restrictions on late-night talking on phones, listening to music without earphones at high volumes, and keeping the main lights on after 10 pm.
Indian Railways has now announced these new sets of rules for passengers travelling at night to make their journey a comfortable and peaceful one. According to the guidelines, any passenger found violating any of these will be subjected to strict actions. The TTE (Travelling Ticket Examiner) and the rest of the staff on board are to make sure the rules are being followed and to assist the passengers with the same.
Lights Off IRCTC Rules After 10 pm
- TTE(Travelling Ticket Examiner) is not allowed to examine the passenger's ticket.
- All lights, excluding the nightlight, ought to be turned off.
- Passengers who are travelling in groups cannot converse.
- No listening to loud music without earphones.
- If a middle-berth passenger opens their seat after 10 pm, lower-berth passengers cannot complain.
- No food may be served, however e-catering services will allow you to order your dinner or breakfast in advance and do so even late at night.
Loading IRCTC Rules For Luggage
Those travelling in an AC coach will be allowed to carry a maximum of 70 kg of luggage. For sleeper class passengers, the allowance is 40 kg, and for those in second class, 35 kg of luggage is free. For extra charges in the AC coach, passengers will be allowed to carry 150 kg, in a sleeper 80 kg, and 70 kg in second class.
