The list of world&rsquos most powerful passports for 2020 was recently released with India at the 84th rank. The Henley Passport Index 2020 showed India&rsquos position two ranks lower in 2020 than it had been the previous year 82nd in 2019 to 84th in 2020. Nevertheless, Indian passport holders can still access 58 countries visa free.
The report has been prepared by Henley and Partners, with the data retrieved from International Air Transport Association (IATA).
According to the report, Japan ranks first in the list as the passport allows visa free access to 191 countries. Japan continues to retain the top rank for the third consecutive year and is followed closely by Singapore, South Korea, Germany, Italy, Finland, Spain, Luxembourg and Denmark.
India is ranked 84th along with Tajikistan and Mauritania. Indian passport holders can go visa free to Bhutan, Macao, Tunisia, Qatar, Kenya, Fiji, and the British Virgin Islands, among countries.
The index arranges 200 countries in 107 rank categories. This year, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan made the bottom three ranks with visa free access to 29, 28 and 26 countries, respectively.
