Well known for its abundant culture and heritage, India tops every travellers&rsquo list when it comes to exposing themselves to enriched experience. The culturally rich and sound inheritance runs across the length and breadth of the country and almost impossible to cover all of it.

However, the month of February will give us an insight into the country's diverse heritage, making it accessible to all, with the India Heritage Walk Festival (IHWF). The third edition of the festival has over 140 experiences in 44 cities (yes, you heard that right).

The festival is an ongoing month-long activity in cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Indore, Goa, Vadodara, Leh, and Shillong, among others.

The festival is designed to be multifaceted and more inclusive by targeting various user-groups. Apart from curated walks, the festival will also organise baithaks, workshops, Instameets, and Insta Tours. Led by locals, experts, scholars, and researchers, the events will explore the cultural fabric of India not just by telling stories but also helping one discover, learn, and experience the vibrant heritage of India.

The event has been organised by Sahapedia, an open online resource on the art, culture, and history of India, in partnership with UNESCO, New Delhi.

Ranging from museums, monuments, and markets, exploration of interesting natural landscapes and areas known for their rich cuisine, to gender-oriented narratives, the programme this year has been curated across ten central themes including knowledge traditions, visual and material arts, performing arts, literature and languages, practices and rituals, histories, institutions, people, built spaces and natural environment.

Another initiative Anubhutis makes the experience more accessible to those with special needs and disadvantaged backgrounds. You can check more about the line up of events and book yourself for one, here.
