Himachal Pradesh has opened state borders for tourists and visitors, and they will no longer need e-passes or test results. After a lockdown of five months, the state has opened borders for free movement.

However the state cabinet has decided not to resume inter-state transport buses as of now.

The announcement comes as a huge step in reviving the economy of the state. Himachal Pradesh is heavily dependent on tourism and has a number of pilgrimage spots within its borders. With winters approaching, the state turns a popular destination with snowfall views and adventure activities.

The Himalayan state recorded 89 deaths due to COVID so far, while the positive case count is 10,060 with 143 fresh cases as of September 15.

There has been a decline in the graph and therefore under Unlock 4, the state has lifted travel restrictions.
