Keeping in mind the rising cases of covid across the globe, Hong Kong is the latest country to tighten its border restrictions. Indians can now not travel to Hong Kong for the next two weeks as the nation has barred flights from India along with seven other countries. The seven other countries include Australia, US, UK, Canada, France, Pakistan and Philippines.

The decision to bar flights for two weeks comes as a part of a series of measures being taken to control the spread of the omicron variant. The country also has other restrictions in place including a ban on dining in restaurants post 6pm and closure of gyms, bars, pools, clubs amidst other public spaces. The country&rsquos government also announced the closure of Hong Kong Disneyland today for the fourth time amidst the fear of the virus.

The government has decided to ban the flights after an omicron outbreak originated from the members of an airlines&rsquo crew. According to sources, neither will the flights from India and eight other countries be allowed to land in Hong Kong nor will individuals who have stayed in these countries be allowed to board flights to Hong Kong, even transit flights.
