A recent quick visit to Kannur in north Kerala by Gordon Ramsay has given rise to speculations that the famous chef and restaurateur, who wears many other hats, is set to feature Malabari cuisine during the upcoming second season of his culinary series &lsquoUncharted&rsquo on National Geographic network.
In a previous television series titled &lsquoGordon&rsquos Great Escape&rsquo, Ramsay had portrayed the culture of Kerala and Malabari cuisine was part of it. He had described Kerala as a land of spice and fragrance.
Sandwiched between the Western Ghat mountains and the Arabian Sea, the Malabar region of Kerala is known for its wide range of flavourful vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
According to media reports, Ramsay arrived at a beach resort in Kannur one early morning in January this year and almost immediately left for the shoot. He even posted a story on his Instagram from Kerala&rsquos famous drive-in beach Muzhappilangad located parallel to National Highway 66 between Kannur and Thalassery.
The first season of &lsquoUncharted&rsquo, which premiered in July 2019 on the NatGeo network, ran for six episodes and featured cuisines from Peru, New Zealand, Morocco, Hawaii, Laos, and Alaska. During that time, Indian media had reported that Ramsay had hinted that a second season of the show was being planned and he would be back in India for that.
