Travelling during the pandemic can be tricky with rules and travel advisories changing every so often. To help you stay on top of it all, Google has added new travel tools to its search engine.
The tools let users view COVID-19 related advisories for their destination.
Google released details of the new travel tools in a blog post on April 28.
Google's new travel tool will now assist potential travellers by notifying updates of country-specific and state-specific travel advisories and restrictions via email when you hit the Google Alert button. This feature has already been launched in the US.
The redesigned Explore tool on Google&rsquos travel tab now shows more destinations, travel advisories and restrictions, various filters for destinations, and other COVID-19 related information that may be required by travellers.
The Explore tab now has its own page on google.com/travel which will showcase smaller cities, national parks, destination filters based on your interests, information about hotels, best time to visit, things to do, and more.
Google said that it decided to add these tools after terms like 'travel restrictions' and 'where to travel' started coming up frequently under searches by users.
Google has also updated the desktop version of Google Maps which will help plan your future trips.
