OT Favourite hotel in the world
Leela Samson Neemrana Fort-Palace on the Delhi-Jaipur highway.
OT Last visited
Leela Samson In 2004, for three to four days over Christmas with the family.
OT The experience
Leela Samson The location is great &mdash hidden by the Aravallis, atop a smallish hill that looks down on an endless expanse of land below. A steep winding road leads to the fort, from where you can survey the surrounding village with its picturesque little galis and the Rajasthani landscape beyond &mdash dry and mysterious. The rooms are all different. The décor is a blend of traditional Indian and colonial styles and every nook and corner has an element of detail that is fun. A lot of them have private balconies or terraces, which afford views of the hills and countryside. We had several rooms among us, so we explored and loved each one.
In the centre of the property is the pool, which provides an excellent vantage point for scenic, green views stretching to the horizon.
The service is efficient and polite.
OT The food
Leela Samson All their meals are buffets and include a variety of Rajasthani and French dishes, which makes for a great combination. There is no big emphasis on fancy presentation or complicated cooking &mdash just simple, homey food.
OT The hotel&rsquos &lsquoUSP&rsquo
