In 1932, Lala Santram Gupta started a wholesale business in Jammu, producing edible oils of nuts from the higher regions of the state to the locals. In 1984, his son created a separate unit for edible exotic oils and introduced things such as cold pressed hazelnut oil, flaxseed oil and linseed oil, most of which were unheard of back then. His son, in turn, focussed on the three prized oils from the region - Almond, Apricot and Walnut. Today, Shubharata Anil, the fourth generation of the same family, hopes to take the goodness of her hills to people across the country
Trikuta Oils
Shubhrata joined her family&rsquos nine-decade old business during the pandemic, hoping to revamp it and launch the oils they produce, which they had been selling to other brands fpr decades, under their own label. Trikuta Oils has introduced an exotic range of organic oils that can enhance an individual&rsquos day-to-day wellness quotient. The new range comprises apricot, almond and walnut oils, exfoliating natural scrubs and an apricot hair mask.
All the raw materials for these organic oils are sourced from the hills of Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh. &ldquoThe almonds are sourced from the Liddar Valley and Betaab Valley of Jammu & Kashmir whereas the apricots are ethically sourced from the Chenab valley and Pir Panchal ranges of Jammu & Kashmir as well as from the Suru Valley of Ladakh. The walnuts are sourced from the Lolab Valley of Jammu & Kashmir,&rdquo explains Shubhrata.
Trikuta uses the old-age, conventional cold-pressed method of extraction so that the nutrient values of the oils remain intact. They also introduced the idea of utilising cold-pressed oils for salad dressings, direct consumption and baking, given the oils&rsquo high health potential and nutritional values for skin, body and hair. Packaged using sustainable and environment-friendly materials, the oils crafted by Trikuta Oils, for a century now, have no chemicals or bleaching agents and are 100% pure and fresh, tested for safety and health standards. They are cruelty-free, vegan and carry the goodness of the valleys of the north right to your home.
