The UAE government has exempted tourists aged 18 and under from paying visa fee. Between July 15 and September 15, 2019, children accompanied by their parent(s) will qualify for an exemption from visa fees. However, this is beneficial only if the accompanying parent holds a tourist visa--be it short or long term visa. Tourists of all nationalities can avail the benefits of this initiative but visa exemption must be applied for in advance via UAE National Carriers or licensed travel agencies.
The visa cost and travel cost are key determinants of any family vacation and this step taken by the UAE government encourages people to choose UAE as a tourist destination.
