Discover The Music And Mysticism Of Poet Kabir

The life and legend of poet Kabir has always been surrounded by a wave of mysticism. To celebrate his contribution to the world of literature, the Mahindra Kabira Festival is back with its fourth edition. The festival will be held between 22^nd &ndash 24^th November, 2019. Every year during the month of November, the city of Varanasi comes alive to celebrate the works and teachings of the poet.

The two day programme will include music sessions by leading artistes, literature sessions, discourses, curated walks, boat rides along the river Ganges and an array of local cuisine. The aim is to reach as many people as possible with Kabir&rsquos preachings of &lsquooneness in diversity&rsquo. This year&rsquos line up will include riveting performances, taking place at the Shivala and Guleria Ghats, by Neeraj Arya&rsquos Kabir Cafe, Neeraj Mishra, Ujwal Nagar and veteran artists like Om Prakash Nayak, Shabnam Virmani and noted Sarangi player Ustad Kamal Sabri. The festival this year will also be graced by three time Grammy nominee Pandit Ajay Shankar Prasanna, who will be performing a collaborative &lsquoflute symphony&rsquo with other eminent artistes.

The Mahindra Kabira Festival till now has witnessed performances by some of the most popular artistes in the country which include the likes of Kailash Kher, Shubha Mudgal , Malini Awasthi, Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty among others. This year&rsquos edition also plans to bring in Unity Earth, an international organisation that focuses on realisation of unity and peace on Earth.
