Celebrate the King's Birthday With the Graceland Virtual Tour

"Have you heard the news, everybody's rockin' tonight...." - Elvis Presley, 1954. 

This January 8&nbspmarks what would have been Elvis Presley's 87th birthday. The year 2022 is also the 45th anniversary of the King's passing. To commemorate both occassions, Graceland has lined up a host of events, concerts, special giveaways, exclusive merchandise, and more.

If you are one of the millions who can&rsquot help falling in love with the voice of the King, then consider signing up for a live virtual tour of Graceland. The two-hour guided tour around the 14-acre estate of his former Memphis home (now turned into a museum) includes a visit to the Meditation Garden where he is buried. These live tours,&nbspconducted in a Facebook Live format and streaming in real time,&nbspare hosted by resident Elvis historian Angie Marchese, and offer a look at stuff that you could only see if you actually visited Graceland. For instance, depending on which tour you take, you could peek inside Presley&rsquos famous private jet, his cars, and wardrobe, or you could go on a walk through the entertainment complex which houses exhibits and artifacts related to the singer. Tickets can also give you access to the Facebook page for a week, during which you can ask interact with Marchese some more.

Concerts and Events

Graceland's ELVIS 45 programme will mark the 45th anniversary of his passing in 1977 through all of 2022. Priscilla Presley herself will appear at several of the events.

The first of the ELVIS 45 events kicked off this week to mark Presley&rsquos birthday from January 6-9, including an afternoon screening and sing-along with the film Viva Las Vegas, a gospel dinner with Elvis gospel music, and a concert.

Collectibles and Merchandise

Along with the celebrations, Graceland is has launched 'ELVIS 45 The Sapphire Collection' featuring a 2022 Graceland Annual Pass and a limited-edition collection of Elvis&rsquo 45 RPM singles in a collectible case.

Visitors to Graceland (who tour on six select days in 2022) can also pick up one of the 1,000 special Elvis 45 records which will feature an Elvis 45 custom jacket. The giveaways on three of the dates will be custom-pressings with a one-of-a-kind A/B side combination that is unavailable anywhere in the world. 

Meawhile, watchmaker Hamilton has relaunched one of Elvis&rsquo favorite timepieces the Hamilton Ventura. Originally launched in 1957, it made a movie cameo on the King's wrist in the 1961 musical Blue Hawaii.
