BLADE India resumes scheduled by-the-seat helicopter services in Maharashtra

Urban air mobility (UAM) company, BLADE India, is scheduled to resume its five days a week by-the-seat helicopter services in Maharashtra from October 4, this year.  

Booking for the Mumbai &ndash Pune &ndash Aamby Valley route has already opened, the company said in a recent release.

The Blade India initiative, a joint venture between US-based BLADE Urban Air Mobility Inc. and Hunch Ventures, a privately held Indian investment firm, was launched in November 2019. After launching its Maharashtra operations, the company had also announced the launch of operations in Karnataka.

By opting for BLADE India services, travellers can cut down their Mumbai-Pune journey to 40-minute of flight time (compared to six hours of road travel). According to the company, prices for the Mumbai-Pune route start at Rs 12,500 per person with complimentary pick-up and drop-off services, lounge access and benefits from brands such as Audi, BMW Excellence Club, Quorum and others.  BLADE also flies to Aamby Valley from both Mumbai and Pune on Fridays and Mondays, where prices start at Rs 5,000 per person.

Flights from Mumbai will take off daily from Juhu Aerodrome, except on Wednesdays, when they lift off from Mahalaxmi Racecourse. In Pune, the helicopters will land at BLADE vertiport in Yoo Villas, Kharadi and on the airstrip in Aamby Valley, five minutes by car to the Aamby Valley villas.

According to the company, its Flier Relations team will take care of the ground transfer and stay bookings while the Flier Experience team will be taking care of the centrally-located.
