The land that gave us the mighty Indian one horned rhinoceros, the Bihu dance, that gorgeous cuppa of the Orthodox Assam tea, the unique river island Majuli, to name a few, is on its way to become a global tourist destination. And soon. On August 10, 2019, the Assam government made the announcement that a sum of @INR300 Crore has been sanctioned to Assam Tourism to promote the state as the next big global tourist destination. The good news just doesn't end there the state may also (and soon) host the Filmfare Awards in Guwahati the stars are indeed shining for the lovely state of Assam. Amidst the recent news of flood ravaged Assam, this is definitely a sweet welcome.
