The Met Unframed website now allows you to access the artworks placed in the Metropolitan Museum of New York, from the comfort of your living room.

With the help of a cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) experience, launched by Met and Verizon this week, you can witness the magnificence of art from wherever you want.

After visiting the website and scanning the barcode with one&rsquos phone, an individual can experience an immersive and hyper realistic version of the spectacular art museum. You can also navigate through the galleries of the museum digitally, viewing around fifty at pieces from the collection of the museum.

With Verizon&rsquos 5G Ultra Wideband network, the access extends to unlocking a feature that makes art work interactive as well.

The galleries can be explored based on their themes- nature, home, power, journey, and the galleries have stunning displays from artists like Sam Gilliam, Carmen Herrera, Ibrahim El-Salahi, Vincent Van Gogh, Jacob Lawrence, Mark Bradford, etc.

The website also includes games, trivia and activities involving observation of the artwork at the museum. With another city-wide lockdown being a possibility, owing to the second strain of the virus, Met Unframed and Verizon have brought the very iconic Metropolitan Museum visit to art lovers&rsquo electronic devices.
