Abu Dhabi's Duty-Free Store Goes Online

If there is one thing that excites us about airports, other than setting off for holidays, it is the amazing offers and deals at duty-free stores. With the pandemic hampering air travel, many airline companies and airports are being forced to think of ways to keep operating services, from delivering airplane food to people's homes to flights to nowhere. 

Here's another COVID-related innovation. The Abu Dhabi Airports Duty Free has launched a new online store for UAE residents who can order products and have them delivered to their doorstep.

They can choose from a wide range of luxury products and items of necessity from leading national and international brands at unimaginable prices. They can have these home delivered or pick them from the airport when they arrive, leave or transit through Abu Dhabi.

The process is simple. People have to register at the online store, and create an account.

This option is available only for UAE residents and the products delivered will be directly from the airport store. The CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, Shareef Al Hashmi, said he is extremely optimistic of this new endeavour and believes it will help people indulge in some guilt-free shopping while staying safe.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had adverse effects on the travel and tourism sector. Many flights have been grounded as borders have been closed due to the global lockdown. This online venture comes a fresh boost to revive some airport favourites and give people the joys of airline travel.
