We know that French cuisine is divine, if the taste isn&rsquot proof enough then Unesco putting it on the World Heritage list as &ldquointangible cultural treasures&rdquo should be a clear indication. But this happened back in 2010, and this year we have been gifted with something akin to a gastronomical treasure. And of course, if it is something about food then it must happen in Lyon, France, a popular culinary destination and birthplace of Bouchon. The Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie is a newly-opened, one-of-a-kind food museum that should be on everybody&rsquos travel list. The museum is for traditional French cuisine, but with a twist the theme is health with a focus eating well (without skimping on the much-needed cheese, cream and meat). This latest addition to the already-popular Lyon would be a journey in itself. Visitors will be able to experience many interactive exhibits and an indulgent chef&rsquos table. Exploring the idea and relationship between man and food--from gatherers to hunters to producers. The museum will also have a section explaining the food history of Lyon. Soon, Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie will be expanding its reach to Dijon, Tours and Rungis. The museum is open an all days from 10am to 4pm tickets are priced at &euro12 for adults and &euro8 for children. See citegastronomielyon.fr/en for more information.
