It&rsquos no secret that the Pullman New Delhi Aerocity is one of the nicer hotels in the Aerocity development, and this makes it a vibrant, bustling place on any day of the week. And yet, behind the frenetic fa&ccedilade, sits a 16,000 sq ft urban oasis, their signature Woo Wellness Spa & Salon, one of the largest in the neighbourhood. While the salon is extremely popular with the flight crew who like to stay here, the spa draws devotees of wellness and rejuvenation, both in-house and walk-in guests.

Woo boasts of six single treatment rooms, two couple treatment rooms, all extremely spacious and tastefully done up, a gym, a salon and an outdoor swimming pool, which it shares with sister brand Novotel. With every imaginable treatment&mdashfrom Swedish to Thai to Ayurvedic&mdashon offer, the spa is always looking for new ways to tease the stress out of its patrons.

Which is probably why, for the rainy season, they have introduced the rejuvenating and detoxifying Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage, one of the oldest and most powerful forms of healing known to man. Many more seasonal offerings are in the wings, the new spa manager told us. Come winter, and Balinese treatments might just show up on the menu, for instance.

We couldn&rsquot help but give the Lomi Lomi a go, and, under the expert care of one of their therapists, we came away with all our tension knots gently eased out. Distinguished by its use of forearms, elbows and knuckles as the primary &lsquotools&rsquo of massage, and administered in long flowing strokes, the Lomi Lomi transported us right to the beaches of Hawaii, where, indeed, it is an integral part of traditional social life, with everyone from child to chief practising the massage technique. Not being lucky enough to have been born in that tropical paradise ourselves, we have to rely on the Woo Wellness Spa & Salon to do the needful for us.

Apart from the usual&mdashand very reliable&mdashcontingent of treatments, fancier offerings at Woo include body scrubs like Cane Sugar Citrus Energizer and Crystal Rose Body Hydration and intriguing body wraps like the Frangipani and Kokum and Honey. We, for one, are wooed and will be going back for more.
