Sao Joao, the feast held in honour of St John the Baptist, is observed with much fanfare in Goa, especially in Siolim, Anjuna, Candolim, Calangute and Assagao. Held at the beginning of monsoon, it includes events such as retrieving gifts from wells, diving into wells and rivers, boat races, etc. Goa Tourism and Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) have organised the Raindrop Festival during this time. On June 24, 2015, the GTDC has organised a special cruise on board Santa Monica from 10am to 3pm.
