A nature trip to Wild Borneo

BNHS, with its mission to create public awareness about the protection and preservation of our natural heritage, is organising a nature trip between 10 and 18 June (ex Mumbai) to the world's oldest rainforest, located in Borneo, Malaysia. This is the only place to see the endangered Borneo Orangutan. The Wild Borneo nature trip will cover Bako National Park, Gunung Gading National Park, and Mulu National Park (a UNSECO World Heritage Site). These various wildlife reserves are home to some of the rare or ecologically threatened animals and plants - Proboscis Monkey, Leaf-Monkey, Rhinoceros Hornbill, the world&rsquos largest single flower - Rafflesia, etc. The Gunung Gading National Park features a complex of mountains rising into several peaks, with numerous waterfalls tumbling down in series in the upper reaches of Lundu river the Mulu National Park encompasses cave formations and is flanked by limestone outcrops with virgin tropical forest on the lower slopes giving way to montane vegetation in the upper region. An expert naturalist from BNHS will be travelling with the group. Camp fee of Rs. 1,61,200 (for non-members) includes economy class air tickets (ex Mumbai), visa and processing charges, full board accommodation, game drives/trails and game park entrance fees as per itinerary, travel insurance for participants aged upto 70 years, and BNHS expertise.
