All Living Things What To Expect At This Environmental Film Festival In India

The third edition of All Living Things Environmental Film Festival (ALT EFF) will bring issues related to the environment to the forefront

One of the few film festivals in India that put the spotlight on environment, sustainability and community life, All Living Things Environmental Film Festival, called ALT EFF, is scheduled to hold its third edition this year. Conceptualised by environmental entrepreneur Kunal Khanna, ALT EFF will showcase 55 films in the upcoming edition, which will be held in a hybrid format with both virtual and physical screenings. 

ALT EFF 2022

Running from November 17 to November 27, 2022, the festival features an eminent jury which includes filmmaker and producer Kiran Rao, award-winning director Amit Masurkar, President of the Wildlife Conservation Trust Dr. Anish Andheria, Pradip Kishen, a filmmaker and environmentalist and Lindsay Crowder, Climate Program Director at Exposure Labs.

ALT EFF&rsquos Mission

Calling themselves a &ldquoplatform that inspires and mobilises communities to take action towards creating a sustainable future, locally and at large,&rdquo ALT EFF&rsquos aim is to engage the public on the environment and social issues by sparking informed discourse through debates and discussions, while also promoting talented filmmakers. It was launched in 2020, in a virtual format. 

Screenings at ALT EFF 2022

The festival will screen movies on climate change, conservation, activism, urbanisation and more online and a select few will also be showcased around different cities. Some of these are

Climate Exodus by David Baute Climate Exodus tells the tragedy of three women who have lost everything due to climate change and now emigrate to start a new life.

Into Dust by Orlando von Einsiedel The extraordinary true story of Perween Rahman, a woman who worked tirelessly to protect the rights of Pakistan&rsquos poor, who paid the ultimate price.

The Seeds of Vandana Shiva by Camilla Becket, Jim Becket The eco-activist life story of Dr. Vandana Shiva.
