DLF Avenue Saket To Host Nissan Konnichiwa Japan 2022

As part of the year-long celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Japan, &ldquoNissan Konnichiwa Japan 2022&rsquo is scheduled to be held in New Delhi on December 16 and 17 at DLF Avenue Saket. The event will be inaugurated by the Ambassador of Japan to India, Hiroshii Suzuki.

The two-day flagship event will feature a series of events including sumo wrestling, karate, and taiko performances (traditional Japanese drums), Okinawa dance performance. For foodies, there is a Japanese tea ceremony and food tasting sessions. You can also take part in calligraphy sessions, and a cosplay show. Or pick up the skills in a Kimono wearing show.

Konnichiwa Japan 2022 is being organised by Konnichiwa Japan Club with the support of the Embassy of Japan New Delhi, Japan Chamber of Commerce, and Industry in India (JCCII), Japan Foundation, Discover India Club, and India Japan Friendship Forum.

&ldquoThe objective is to showcase and introduce Japanese culture to common Indian people through various cultural performances and lectures," said&nbspDr. Alka Kumar, President, Konnichiwa Japan Club. "Furthermore, we hope to reach out to people who are yet to visit Japan and introduce authentic Japanese culture by giving them an insight into the beautiful country of Japan."

The sumo wrestlers who will participate in the event are

Keisuke Kamikawa (Sumo name - Wakatenrow) who was born in Nemuro City, Hokkaido and belonged to Magaki stable. His real name is Keisuke Kamikawa and his nickname is Keisuke. He is 184 cm tall, and weighs 170 kg. His specialty is thrusting and pushing. His hobby is weight training. His highest rank is Nishijuryo 2nd place (September 2010).

Kazuyuki Hino (sumo name Kotohino) who was born in Chofu City, Tokyo. His height and weight are 177 cm and 138 kgs respectively.
