The approach to Park Street Social has some magic about it. Bold red signage welcomes guests to the quirky and eclectic vibe of the airy 10,000 sq ft space. The first SOCIAL in Kolkata is a love letter to the City of Joy; a space that celebrates Kolkata and all its avatars. The new outpost marks the chain's debut in eastern India, bringing its distinctive blend of food, nightlife, culture, and community to the City of Joy.

"Kolkata is a city steeped in cultural and artistic richness, and we embrace this opportunity to intertwine history and modernity," said Riyaaz Amlani, Founder & Managing Director, Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality Pvt Ltd. "At Impresario, we aim to build spaces where our communities can come together and find a place to call their own. We envision Park Street SOCIAL as a platform to foster these moments, enable arts and culture, and savour all the flavours that Kolkata has to offer."

The Ambience

Step inside and you will be greeted by things that are quintessentially Kolkata, such as wooden mail boxes, louvre windows, boxed in spaces reflecting Kolkata's cabin food culture, and more. The idea is to touch on local themes like the ubiquitous adda culture, the lights and sounds of Durga Pujo, the din of the tram, the city's rich colonial history, and the unique art and architecture of the old city. There are the usual Kolkata decor touches like alpona art and hand-drawn rickshaws. Every SOCIAL outpost reflects the unique characteristics of the neighbourhood it resides in, encompassing everything from the local flavours, and community to a distinctive ambience and vibe.

The Food And Drinks

The menu features the national bestsellers like the chaat platters, and a selection of momos. The ones to go for are the array of special dishes unique to Kolkata. For instance, their classic Bengali Breakfast Tray is a take on the Bangali's favourite first meal of the day, and features luchi, alu-r torkaari, choice of Dhakai paratha with dal or Chicken Mughlai paratha, along with sandesh. Biryani has to be on the menu in Kolkata and their flavourful, light Kolkata Mutton and Chicken Biryani do not disappoint. For a touch of quirk, try the Tangra Jhaal Fish, or the Chingdi Cracker with Schezwan, and Kasundi Fish Tikka. Their hyperlocal specials like Momos from Hell, or the Anda Seekh Roll are popular. As this is a city of mutton aficionados, they have a variety of mutton dishes on the menu, from Chinnabhinna Mangsho to Pulled Kosha Mangsho with Luchi.

About SOCIAL

The SOCIAL brand is well-known. Located around India and featuring good music, decor, food and drinks menu, the spaces are a great location to unwind after work with your office gang or with friends over the weekend. Riyaz Amlani, CEO and Managing Director of Impresario Handmade Restaurants, founded the chain. The first SOCIAL chapter opened in Bengaluru's Church Street in 2014. What began as a cafe and coworking is now a path-breaking urban hangout that is designed to take you offline while still keeping you connected. Since inception, SOCIAL has tapped into the tapestry of many neighbourhoods. A vibrant collaborative workspace during the day, to a lively bar in the evenings, SOCIAL offers a plethora of multi-cuisine food, cocktails, and tipples. Living up to the authentic SOCIAL vibe, Park Street SOCIAL is set to host a dynamic line-up of community activities curated for Kolkata.
