On May 29, 2024, New Delhi recorded its highest-ever temperature of 52.9°C due to heatwave conditions and the consequences of a rapidly heating world driven by the climate crisis. Residents are advised to stay indoors, wear loose clothing, drink plenty of water, eat water-rich fruits and vegetables, and draw curtains and blinds to shield themselves from the worst of the heat.
While these measures are important, there are some fun ways to beat the heat, too. Delhi-NCR has a plethora of water parks which will help you cool down in no time while also bringing fun and frivolity. Here are six of the best.
This water park in Noida, Uttar Pradesh has more than 20 rides and attractions that will ensure you have the time of your life with your family and friends. Among its many offerings are 26 slides, a man-made lake where you can go on a boat ride and a beach-themed wave pool. There are four distinct zones which make up the water park: Tower 1 has three slides; Tower 2 has four rides including a rafting experience; the "Splash Safari" includes a rain and shower system called “Underwater World;” and a miscellaneous collection of slides and rides.

Located on the Old Delhi-Gurgaon Road, this amusement park has a ton of water slides, a “jungle fortress” with roaring waves and tropical vibes, a twist-and-turn slide that is oodles of fun, a “Tornado Slide” which will turn up the volume of your heartbeat, a wave pool where you can relax with a refreshing drink, and a family slide section that gets everyone involved.
Tickets for women start from INR 1,750, men have to pay INR 2000 and kids have to pay INR 1,250. These prices are inclusive of food. Opening hours are from 11AM-7PM on weekends and 11AM-6PM on weekdays.
Going to the Drizzling Land water park in Ghaziabad is a refreshing way to cool down during the summer heat. Its multi-slide pool, wave pool, kids and family pool, river rafting experience, roller coaster, and makeshift waterfall will have you smiling and laughing in no time.
Tickets cost INR 1,099 for adults and INR 799 for children upto 120cm. Opening hours are from 10AM-8PM.
This family-friend water park in Gurugram is a blast from the past. Spread over 12 acres it has 15 water rides like the “Typhoon Tunnel”, which has a drop of nearly 12m; the “Rapid Racer” where you compete with friends and family on a multi-lane water slope; and the “Dancing Drops,” an interactive fountain which familiarises children with water.

Situated near Murthal in Haryana, this water park has everything you need to cool off: a wave pool, kids pool, family pool, a 21m high waterfall, a “Spin and Whirl” ride where you slide down a big, wavy tunnel with lots of twists and turns at high speed, a “Droom Box” where riders move in circular motions until they exit into the pool from the centre of the tunnel, and a “Straight Slide” where people compete with loved ones in a water race to the finish to find out who’s fastest.

This resort in Gurugram has over 14 water slides and activities. The “Mist Rain” dance pool has plenty of slides, and the kids and family playpen introduces young ones to water in a safe and fun way.
