Sushil Reddy has begun another endurance journey on the MG ZS EV electric car as a part of his series of journeys on zero-tailpipe emission vehicles to raise awareness about sustainable mobility. The awareness project is called — The SunPedal Ride.
The route this time will cover 20+ cities starting from Mumbai going to Kaziranga which is the north-eastern most point of the journey. Sharing the route illustration, Reddy writes:
After a flag-off from Mumbai, I started my journey on February 2 in the electric car.
When we started from Mumbai, the MG ZS EV electric car had an 80 per cent battery, with a dashboard range of 280 kilometres. Our destination in Nashik was 210 kilometres away.
Once we traversed out of the Mumbai traffic, we started cruising in the ‘Eco’ driving mode with an average speed of 65-70 kmph due to the traffic and ongoing roadworks. The battery capacity of the MG ZS EV is 50.3 kWh.
Although we did not need a charge en route to complete the journey, we wanted to test a GLIDA DC fast charger. We stopped at a 60 kW DC Fast Charger powered by Exicom in Nashik.
We reached our destination Regent Royal Orchid Hotels Nashik, and shared some of our journey experiences with the hotel team as a part of e-mobility outreach.
The MG ZS EV was charged overnight with a 16 Amp 3-pin socket at this hotel using the portable 3.3 kW charger. Our next stops include Aurangabad, Nagpur, Raipur, Sambalpur.
More updates to follow from this epic journey.
