Beloved British pop band Coldplay have announced the 2025 dates for their “Music of the Spheres” world tour, with Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium set to host them on January 19 and 21. The announcement sparked a frenzy of excitement among Indian fans, who crashed the servers of the BookMyShow website and app on Sunday (Sep 22) when ticket sales opened. For those who were unable to secure a seat, fret not. The band is playing in venues across Asia and the United Kingdom, and bookings for these places are yet to open.
Here are five places where you can catch Coldplay live next year.
The British band is playing at the Zayed Sports City Stadium on January 11, 2025. It is the largest stadium in the United Arab Emirates with 44,260 seats and was inaugurated in 1980. Numerous football matches and tournaments have taken place here, such as the finals of the 2010, 2017 and 2018 men’s FIFA Club World Cups as well as the 2019 men’s AFC Asian Cup. The back-of-house areas include space for media, hospitality, players, referees and storage. Three LED scoreboards are present in the venue as well as a sound system for spectators. The venue is fully lit to the standard required for HDTV broadcasts. Tickets for the concert go on sale on September 27.
The island will host three concerts in 2025 on April 9, 11 and 12 at Kai Tak Stadium. It has a seating capacity of 50,000, with the theme of “Pearl of the Orient” as its design inspiration. The venue boasts a retractable roof and flexible pitch surface that can host a wide range of international, regional and local events in any weather, from premier football and rugby events to a myriad of sports, entertainment and community events. The facility is part of the Kai Tak Sports Park, which includes an indoor sports centre and a public sports ground. Tickets for the concert go on sale on October 10.
The capital of South Korea is hosting four Coldplay concerts in 2025 on April 16, 18, 19 and 22 at the Goyang Stadium. Located on the outskirts of Seoul, the multi-purpose stadium is mostly used to host football matches and has a seating capacity of 41,311. Tickets for the concert go on sale on September 27.
Craven Park in Hull will host two Coldplay concerts in 2025 on August 18 and 19. The rugby league stadium in East Yorkshire is the home of the Hull Kingston Rovers, one of two professional rugby league teams based in the city. Craven Park seats 12,000 people and has a standing capacity of up to 25,000 people. The band announced that 10 per cent of the proceeds from their Wembley and Hull shows would be donated to the Music Venue Trust which supports grassroots venues and artists in the United Kingdom. Tickets for the concert go on sale on September 27.
Coldplay will wrap up their world tour in London with six concerts in the iconic Wembley Stadium on August 22, 23, 26, 27, 30 and 31 next year. Since it first opened in 1923, the venue has witnessed some of the most historic and memorable moments of the last century, from the Olympics in 1948 and the FIFA Men’s World Cup of 1966 to the Live Aid concert in 1985 and the UEFA Women’s Euro championship in 2022. The stadium's signature feature is a circular section lattice arch—the world's longest unsupported roof structure. Tickets for the concert go on sale on September 27.
