You can reach Lucerne, a charming town on the banks of Lake Lucerne, which is surrounded by the magnificent Swiss Alps, in an hour's train trip from Zurich. Lucerne is well-known for its remarkable preserved medieval architecture. Its main attractions include the 14th-century Water Tower and the famous Chapel Bridge, which has been adorned with exquisite paintings and flowers.
