In recent years, Formula 1 has gained immense fan following in India, especially amongst the younger generations. Nowadays, Sunday is defined by whether it is a race day or not, and most of us also have our favourite cars and drivers. While it is impossible to experience the sport in India live, racing enthusiasts in Delhi-NCR can still get an understanding of the sport by indulging in Go Karting at one of the karting tracks in the city.

The F9 Go Karting Track is the best in the city. It is open 7 days a week from 1pm to 10pm. From Monday to Thursday, charges are devised lap wise, while on the weekends, the charges are devised on the basis of time. Attend the lights and sound show at Red Fort

The Red Fort, built during the Mughal era has stood witness to the historic beginnings of the colonial era, the struggle for independence and the birth of independent India. It is thus one of the most important monuments in the history of the nation, and the light and sound show at the Red Fort is proof of this fact. The show begins with a narrative around the beginnings of Shahjahan’s building of the fort and encompasses his reign, the downfall at the hands of the British, followed by a focus on the Indian independence struggle; all of the above enhance by mesmerising light and spectacular sound. Through masterful storytelling, the Red Fort becomes for a few moments, a pulsating portal to history.

The show runs from May to October. In the summer months of May to August, the timings are 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm for the Hindi retelling and 9 pm to 10 pm for the English retelling. September to October sees Hindi shows from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm and English shows from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The fort is closed on Monday. The light and sound show is the perfect way to attract youngsters and the recent opening of the popular café Jugmug Thela within the fort premises only adds to the charm of the place.

Go Climbing at Indian Mountaineering Foundation

If you are a hiking and climbing enthusiast but unable to plan a trip with friends to the mountains, the Indian Mountaineering Federation has you covered. Plan a day out with friends to their headquarters in South Campus’s Moti Bagh area.  The place has an artificial rock climbing wall and is a great place to learn as well as to test your endurance and strength. The outdoor area has four walls, each different depending on its difficult level. Thus, there is something for every kind of climber.

The IMF is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 8 am to 12 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm. The charges are INR 200 per person. Additionally, the campus offers group activities like commando net and rope ladder among a few others. Please ensure that you place a call to the foundation before visiting and book your slots.
