Discover the unspoiled beauty of Aare and Ware on the Konkan coast for a tranquil escape. These hidden beaches on the Konkan coast are part of a peaceful and relatively lesser-known stretch of shoreline in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. These twin beaches near the villages of Aare and Ware are separated by a hillock and feature pristine golden sands and crystal-clear waters, creating an ideal setting for a tranquil sun and sand holiday. Be amazed by the stunning sunsets over the Arabian Sea and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views from Aare Ware Point, situated atop a picturesque hill. Take a scenic drive along Aare Ware Road, winding through the majestic Western Ghats, and revel in the awe-inspiring vistas of the coastline and cliffs. The beach is perfect for peaceful walks or sunbathing due to its smooth sands, clear waters, and gentle waves.

Savane and Anjarle Beach are two neighbouring gems nestled along the coast of Dapoli, Maharashtra. These pristine shores offer a tranquil escape from city life. Anjarle boasts a two-kilometre stretch of unspoiled beach surrounded by palm trees, while Savane stands out for its cleanliness and unspoiled beauty. Anjarle Beach has black sands mixed with gravel and dotted with shells. The journey to these beaches is a scenic delight, with a winding coastal road enhancing the charm of this virgin beach. Experience the best of both worlds at the twin beaches of Harnai and Murud. Harnai is a bustling fishing village, while Murud offers a peaceful weekend getaway. Despite being in close proximity to each other, the two beaches are quite different. Harnai has fish auctions drawing large crowds daily, while Murud is the complete opposite, offering solitude and quiet shores. Even on overcast days, Harnai's fishermen can be seen trawling the waters for fish, later selling their catch on the shore, attracting buyers who arrive in all forms of transportation. There are hills on one side of Harnai Beach, a mosque in the backdrop, and Harnai Bunder on the adjacent side. In the evenings, one can see boats anchored near the bunder, with many colourful flags fluttering atop them. The lively atmosphere of Harnai contrasts sharply with the serene beauty of Murud Beach. The palm-fringed beach of Murud is just what the doctor ordered. The clear, calm waters of the sea meet the black sands dotted with crab holes on a long stretch of beach. The sunset sky provides a perfect backdrop for a leisurely walk along the winding road through the beach. Visitors can stay until the moon rises and casts its silvery reflection on the waters. Murud Beach is relatively safer and offers enough privacy to opt for beachwear. Nevertheless, avoid venturing too far out as it's fairly isolated. To experience a lovely sunset, you can also drive out to Karde.

These twin villages near the Gujarat border are renowned for their secluded beaches, old Parsi homes, and thriving chikoo cultivation. The short drive to the station is lined with chikoo orchards - Gholvad is known as the "Chikoo Bowl" of Maharashtra.
