Located about 35 km from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, this small village is part of the Ri Bhoi district. The rolling hills, thick forests, and flowing streams surrounding the village offer a picturesque setting that captures the essence of Meghalaya's raw beauty.

The best time to visit Rapleng is between October and April when the weather is pleasant and conducive to outdoor activities. The nearest major city is Shillong; from there, Rapleng is a 1.5 to 2-hour drive. If you are coming from outside the state, the closest airport is Shillong Airport, about 80 km from the village, or Guwahati Airport (about 145 km), with better connectivity. You can take a bus or taxi from Guwahati to Shillong and continue to Rapleng.
