PM Modi's recent visit to the Lakshadweep, which snowballed into a brouhaha, triggered an interest in his past travels. We have compiled a list of the top places he has visited that you must check out.
Lakshadweep is a group of 36 coral islands in the Laccadive Sea, a part of the Arabian Sea. Travellers must visit Agatti Island, Kavaratti Island, Bangaram Island and Minicoy Island and indulge in water activities such as snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing and canoeing.
In 2023, PM Modi visited Kedarnath and Badrinath. The sites are part of the Char Dhams in India. In Kedarnath, he meditated in a cave.
Last year, PM Modi visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar, the holiest site in Sikhism. The construction of the temple started in 1581 by Guru Arjan and was completed in 1604. It is a masterpiece in terms of architecture.
In one of his visits to China, PM Modi went to see the archaeological site of the Terracotta Army in China. Located in the Chinese city of Xi'an, the Terracotta Army is a collection of terracotta sculptures that depict the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China.
In 2020, PM Modi went on a visit to Longewala, Rajasthan, to spend time with brave soldiers. The place is a border town in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan. At Longewala, you can see bunkers and trenches, a museum, and a movie on war.
PM Modi visited Bhubaneswar in 2017. He uploaded pictures from the majestic Lingaraj Temple which left a lasting impression on him. The temple was built around the 10th century by King Jajati Keshari and completed in the 11th century by King Lalatendu Keshari.
Late in 2023, PM Modi offered prayers at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Andhra Pradesh. Located on a hilltop about 3,200 feet, the temple is dedicated to Venkateswara, a form of Vishnu, believed to have appeared on earth to save mankind.
